Mr. Taylor is the founder of Taylored 4 Life – health, fitness and wellness consulting firm and the Vibrant Health and Wellness Foundation, a nonprofit 501 ( c ) 3 organization.
Philosophy: Focused on maximizing self-leadership, education and communication with employees, communities, and individuals on important topics of Diet, Nutrition, Exercise, Stress, Wellness Coaching, Weight Management, Diabetes, Smoking Cessation, and other preventive care issues in an informative and sustaining way.
Background: With over 30 years of leadership experience with the Department of Defense and technology industry, coupled with his experience and research of optimal human performance, Gregory developed a model of wellness and longevity based on modern and ancient philosophers, as well as insight from corporate and military leaders, health and nutritional experts, countless literature, numerous seminars and lectures on human behavior. He served two four-year terms on the Maryland State Governor Advisory Council on Physical Fitness; consultant Maryland Medical Society (MEDCHI); member of the Medical Fitness Society; the Prince George’s County Health Officer Coalition; former Exercise Science Instructor at PGCC; and producer of “Think and Stay Fit: Men Over 40” video. He produced and hosted the Taylored 4 Life Health and Fitness shows, sponsored and developed Health-Wellness conferences, and has appeared on radio and local TV shows, as well as presented workshops on fitness, nutrition and health.
Certifications & Education: Gregory, former US Army Paratrooper, certified Military Fitness Leader, Command Fitness Coordinator, holds certifications as Fitness Trainer and Counselor, Strength and Resistance Specialist, and former coach (Brooks Sports-Taylored 4 Life 5K to 50 mile training program). He is also a military boot camp instructor; trained in yoga and advanced Pilates, and is a member of AFAA, NSCA, and USA Track and Field. Gregory is also trained in Group Facilitation and holds a graduate level Certificate in Health and Wellness Coaching at the Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly Tai Sophia Institute), and a certified National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) Lifestyle Coach. He holds Graduate certificates in Nutrition for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, Graduate School of Nursing, UC San Francisco; Harvard School of Lifestyle Medicine Certificate, MIT Health Systems Health Certificate, PhD Student Holistic Nutrition, an MS, BS, Maryland University College, A.A., Prince George’s Community College, Virginia Tech (Pamplin Business College) MBA Certificate; Graduate of the National Defense University and the Army Staff Management College for senior civilians. Gregory is also a member of the certified John Maxwell Speaking, Training, and Coaching team.
Personal: Gregory is an avid cyclist, hiker, and rower; has competed in military bench press competitions, marathons (26.2 mile), and ultra-marathon runs (50 to 100 miles), as well as completed cycling the entire C&O Canal.
Dr. Arleen Tate, PhD, MS, RDN, LDN, Director Wellness and Nutrition
She is an ardent health advocate who has served on advisory boards and local health committees. Her passion is plant-base diets, diabetes self-management, cancer prevention, and chronic diseases. She is also promoting the Center for Disease Control National Diabetes Prevention Program. Arleen’s background includes experience as a Home Economics teacher who later change her focus to dietetics. In this capacity, she has worked in various administrative, research, and community based positions. She also taught on the college level, provided training for academe, served on a speaker bureaus and as a peer reviewer on the national level for a number of federal agencies. Her speaking experience also includes appearance on local television programs. In addition to her speaking experience on the national and local level, she has also contributed content to print media. In her spare time, she also practices Tai Che, Qigong, and Zumba.
